All free nights are redeemable at Category 1-4 Hyatt hotels worldwide.

Card Benefits:

• $95 annual fee
• Automatic World of Hyatt Discoverist status
• 4X points at Hyatt hotels (up to 9X total when combined with member points)
• 2X points on dining, airline tickets, transit, and gym memberships
• 1X points on all other purchases
• One free Category 1-4 night certificate each anniversary
• 5 elite night credits yearly + 2 more for every $5,000 spent
• No foreign transaction fees

Is This Offer Worth It?

The Value Proposition: Peak season Category 4 hotels cost 18,000 points per night. If you maximize all 5 welcome bonus nights at peak Category 4 properties, that’s potentially worth 90,000 Hyatt points.

However, this bonus comes in the form of free night certificates (not points), which means:

• ✅ Pros: Easier to understand value, can potentially save more than points at expensive properties
• ❌ Cons: Less flexible than points, certificates expire in 12 months, limited to Category 1-4 properties

Who Should Get This Card:

• You can organically hit $15,000 in spend over 6 months without manufactured spending
• You’re under Chase’s 5/24 rule (this card counts toward it)
• You have specific Hyatt stays planned for 2026-2027

Important Considerations

Certificate Expiration (READ THIS CAREFULLY): Free night certificates expire 12 months from the date they’re issued – but here’s the important part: you can book stays that occur AFTER the expiration date, as long as your checkout date is before the certificate expires.

Here’s how it works:

• Certificate issued: April 15, 2025
• Expiration date: April 15, 2026
• You can book anytime before expiration for stays checking out by April 15, 2026 ✅
• You can book in March 2026 for a checkout date of April 14, 2026 ✅
• You CANNOT book for a checkout date of April 20, 2026 ❌

Key points:

• The checkout date (not booking date) must be before expiration
• Hyatt is extremely strict and will NOT extend certificates under any circumstances
• This is different from some hotel programs – plan your travel accordingly
• You have flexibility in when you book, but the stay must be completed before expiration

Chase 5/24 Rule: This card is subject to Chase’s 5/24 rule, meaning if you’ve opened 5 or more personal credit cards (from any bank) in the past 24 months, you’ll likely be denied.

New Hyatt Cards Coming: Hyatt announced they’re expanding their credit card portfolio in 2026. If you’re already at or near 5/24, you might want to wait to see what premium offerings they launch before burning a 5/24 slot.

No 100K Rent Points Cap: While we’re on the topic of Hyatt changes, the recent Bilt 2.0 updates removed the 100,000 annual cap on earning rent points for those using Bilt’s Hyatt partnership.

The Bottom Line

This is one of the stronger Hyatt card offers we’ve seen, especially if you can maximize the value by booking expensive Category 4 properties. Six free nights (including the $15K anniversary bonus) for a $95 annual fee is hard to beat.

However, keep these important factors in mind:

• Certificate expiration is strict: 12 months from issuance, checkout must be before expiration, no extensions
• Chase 5/24 rule applies: If you’re near the limit, think carefully about using a slot
• New premium cards coming in 2026: Might be worth waiting if you’re already at 5/24

The certificate expiration rules are more restrictive than some programs (like Hilton), so make sure you have concrete travel plans within the 12-month window or are comfortable booking speculatively.
