Rove’s Biggest Update Yet: App, Dining, Gift Cards and More 2026

If you have been following along here for a while, you know I have been using and recommending Rove for some time now. I even wrote a full breakdown of how the platform works over at Rove Miles Explained if you want to start there. On August 28, 2026, we saw Rove’s biggest update since the platform launched – and there is a lot to cover. Here is everything that is new.
The Rove App Is Live
There has been a lot of anticipation for the Rove app and it is finally here. The app is now officially available on iOS, with a public Android beta also open. If you know me, I still prefer an actual website – but I will say the app was done very well. It brings everything into one place – track your Rove Miles, discover earning opportunities, purchase gift cards, find participating dining spots, book travel, and manage your account all from your phone. Rove Dining Is Here
This is the feature I am most excited about, even though I don’t live in any of these major cities. Rove Dining allows you to earn Rove Miles at thousands of participating restaurants across 20 cities including Chicago, New York, Los Angeles, Miami, Nashville, Austin, Dallas, Boston, Washington DC, Seattle, Denver, Philadelphia, Phoenix, Portland, Minneapolis, San Diego, Tampa, Houston, San Francisco, and Atlanta.
Earn rates vary by restaurant and city, ranging from 3x to as high as 12x Rove Miles at select locations. Chicago alone, to my own count, has at least 22 restaurants offering 9x miles. New York and Philadelphia have restaurants offering up to 12x.
Here is how it works. Go to your profile, click linked cards, and add the card you plan to use at restaurants. Find a participating restaurant in the Rove app, pay normally with your linked card, and miles post to your account within seven days. No coupons, no activation codes, no receipts to upload.
Your Rove Miles will also stack with whatever your credit card earns on dining – so if you have a card earning 3x, 4x, or 6x on restaurants, you are earning on both sides of the same purchase. A note on stacking with other dining programs. Rove’s terms state that Rove Miles cannot be combined with earnings from other dining rewards programs. However, I have had one data point reported to me suggesting that Rove Dining stacked with Bilt Dining on the same purchase. I want to be transparent – this conflicts with what Rove has published, and one data point is not enough to draw a conclusion. I will be watching for more data points and will update this post as I learn more. As always, do not make financial decisions based on unconfirmed information.
Instant-Earning Gift Cards
As part of Rove’s biggest update, Rove has launched a gift card marketplace where you can purchase eligible gift cards from participating brands and receive your Rove Miles instantly – not in 60 to 100 days like shopping portal miles, but immediately.
The points and miles community loves gift cards for a multitude of reasons, and this feature will resonate immediately with anyone who has ever been just a few miles short of a redemption. Purchase an eligible gift card through Rove, miles hit your account right away, and you can use them toward your booking without waiting. Rove is continuing to expand the marketplace with additional brands and categories, so expect this feature to grow over time.
Rove Hotels Got a Complete Overhaul
If you book hotels through Rove, the platform just got significantly better. Here is what changed.
Tens of thousands of additional properties have been added, giving you more options across more destinations. Loyalty Eligible rates – which allow you to earn Rove Miles while potentially keeping access to your hotel loyalty benefits including points, elite night credits, and status recognition – now cover around 99% of eligible chain properties depending on the property and program terms.
The booking experience itself has also been rebuilt. Bed configurations are now shown clearly before you book. Cancellation policies are simplified. Meal plan options like breakfast, half board, full board, and all-inclusive are available as add-ons rather than buried across multiple offers for the same room. Certain selections may also offer enhanced Rove Miles multipliers.
Rove has also added an AI-powered feature in the mobile app that lets you ask questions about a property before you book – amenities, pet policies, restaurant options, distance from the airport, and more.
New Browser Extensions and In-Store Offers
Rove has also debuted redesigned Chrome and Safari browser extensions, along with a mobile Safari extension connected to the iOS app. The extensions now include thousands of additional stores and increased earning opportunities, and allow you to discover Rove Miles earning opportunities and apply coupons directly while shopping without needing to start on the Rove platform.
Rove is also beginning to roll out in-store shopping offers, allowing you to earn Rove Miles at participating brick-and-mortar retailers after paying with an eligible linked card. The program is expected to expand to thousands of retail locations over time.
