Chase The Edit Hotel Collection guide showing how to maximize the Sapphire Reserve hotel credit with stays under $500 per night
|

How to Maximize Chase’s The Edit Hotel Collection Benefit

With the 2025 refresh of the Chase Sapphire Reserve®, Chase introduced a new perk through The Edit hotel collection. Cardholders now get two $250 credits each year. This applies when booking a two-night stay at an Edit property through the Chase Travel portal.

When this perk first launched in 2025, it was split biannually. You had one credit to use in the first half of the year. You also had another one in the second. Beginning in 2026, Chase adjusted the advantage: it’s now annual, but still split into two $250 credits. The flexibility here is a big win. You can stack both credits back-to-back at the same property, which is helpful for a longer stay. You can also apply them to a second room if you’re traveling with family or friends.

Which Cards Are Eligible?

What You Get with The Edit Hotels

Unlike typical hotel bookings where you need elite status for upgrades, The Edit bookings automatically include valuable perks like:

  • Daily breakfast for two
  • $100 property credit
  • Complimentary Wi-Fi
  • Room upgrades at select properties
  • Early check-in and late checkout (where available)

Additionally, these stays are eligible to earn hotel loyalty points. They also offer elite night credits. This advantage becomes even more appealing.

Things to Know Before You Book

One warning: some travelers have noted that room rates in The Edit portal can be higher than booking directly. Still, the built-in perks – plus the $250 credit – can often outweigh the difference.

Since the Chase Sapphire Reserve now carries a $795 annual fee, many cardholders in the points-and-miles world are focused on maximizing benefits. The high fee encourages them to find ways to make the most of their rewards. They do this to offset that cost. That’s where this perk comes in. If you strategically choose Edit hotels priced under $500 per night, you can reduce your out-of-pocket expense. This strategy lets you unlock premium hotel perks. Normally these perks would need elite status.

I’ve put together a list of Edit properties worldwide. Each is priced below $500 per night. This is based on the dates I looked at was mainly August 2025 (dates varied). Prices may fluctuate, but this guide will give you a solid starting point for finding value. I have a range of price points because I have looked at the hotel multiple times. Additionally, I have checked multiple dates and the price has fluctuated. Therefore, I’ve given a range for the $$$ I’ve seen.

Important: To qualify for the credits, you must make bookings through the Chase Travel portal. Use your Chase Sapphire Reserve card for these bookings. Always double-check the property’s cancellation policy. Be aware that some locations may charge additional resort fees not included in the nightly rate.

Also of note, there is a $250 hotel credit coming in 2026 through the Chase Sapphire Reserve. It is usable on prepaid, 2-night minimum stays at select brands. These stays must be booked via Chase Travel. Eligible brands include IHG, Omni, Virgin Hotels, Montage Hotels, Pendry Hotels, Minor Hotels, and Pan Pacific Hotels & Resorts. This credit CAN stack with the existing $500 annual “The Edit” credit at qualifying hotels.

If a hotel is one of those below I have made sure I have written those brands in the name.
